A multi-purpose indoor gym with badminton, squash, and table tennis for the disabled will be built in Seosan, Chungcheongnam-do.

On the 4th, Seosan City announced that it had started construction by holding a groundbreaking ceremony for the Seosan Multipurpose Indoor Gymnasium at the parking lot site near the Seosan National Sports Center in Galsan-dong, Seosan-si.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, only a small number of people, including Mayor Maeng Jeong-ho, Chairman Lee Yeon-hee, Seosan City Sports Center Lee Gyu-hyun, Chungnam Sports Center Chairman Kim Deok-ho, and sports officials attended the groundbreaking ceremony.

The gymnasium will be built with one floor above the ground and a total floor area of 3300m2, with 12 badminton courts, 8 table tennis courts for the disabled, and 3 squash markets.

Total project cost of 7.7 billion won will be invested, and it will be promoted with the goal of completion in April 2022.

Seosan City has completed various administrative procedures such as public property review, financial investment review, and basic and detailed design services from 2019 for the construction of a multi-purpose indoor gym.

Seoshi expects that the construction of a multipurpose indoor gym will greatly quench citizens’ thirst for expansion of sports facilities, which has been raised over the years.

Seosan Mayor Maeng Jeong-ho said, “Living sports is the best welfare service that is directly connected to the healthy life of citizens.”

Meanwhile, Seosan City is striving to expand various sports facilities, including the construction of Seosan Techno Valley National Sports Center and Yangdae-dong Sports Theme Park.
