Santa Fe and Nacional matches for Libertadores in Paraguay

by archysport

Since I wasn’t entirely sure what could play their scheduled matches this week in cities like Armenia and Pereira, Conmebol decided to reschedule and change the venues of the meetings of Independent Santa Fe, National Athletic Y Equity for Liberators cup and South American Cup.

The governing body of South American football confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that everyone will have to travel to Paraguay, to officiate as locals in Asunción, the capital of that country. Their meetings will take place next Thursday, May 6.

Santa Fe will face against River Plate, a las 7:00 p.m., at the La Nueva Olla stadium, where Cerro Porteño usually plays.

For its part, Atlético Nacional will play against Argentinos Juniors, at 5:00 pm, at the Manuel Ferreira stadium, in which Olimpia de Paraguay officiates as a venue.

Equidad had scheduled his match for the Copa Sudamericana against Lanús in Pereira, but will finally collide with the Argentine club this Thursday, at 9:00 pm, at the Defensores del Chaco stadium in Asunción, where the Paraguay national team plays its matches at home.

There are two more Colombian teams playing this week at home. Junior will do the same against Fluminense, in Barranquilla, and Tolima will do the same, in Ibagué, against Emelec. Everything seems to indicate that there is no problem for their matches to take place, although some fans have expressed their rejection of the idea of the matches being played in the midst of the national strike.

This is how Conmebol confirmed the new schedules and venues for the matches of three of the Colombian teams in the continental tournaments:
