Revealed: Georginio Wijnaldum claims an annual salary of almost 20 million euros!

In the past few weeks, FC Bayern has been closely associated with a commitment from Georginio Wijnaldum. While in the short term it looked as if Bayern had good prospects to sign the 30-year-old Dutchman, the midfielder is now about to move to FC Barcelona. According to current reports, Wijnaldum is simply too expensive for Bavaria.

As a free transfer player, Wijnaldum would have fit perfectly into Bayern’s current loot scheme. But free transfer does not necessarily mean cheap, as the Wijnaldum case shows very well. As the “BILD newspaper” reports, the Dutch international is demanding an annual salary of almost 20 million euros. In addition, there is a hand money of an unknown amount. This means that the 30-year-old midfielder is too expensive for Bayern as a total package.

Were the Bavarians deliberately exploited by Wijnaldum?

According to the “BILD Zeitung”, Wijnaldum advisor Humphry Nijman has fueled the rumor mill himself again and again in recent weeks to increase the market value of his player and to secure a better starting position in the negotiations with FC Barcelona. The Catalans were linked with Wijnaldum last year. Barca are also said to be the Dutchman’s dream club. His advisor was spotted in Barcelona on Tuesday, and an agreement is likely to be reached soon.

In Munich, however, the anger about the missed opportunity will be limited. According to information from the “BILD newspaper”, FCB is not looking for any reinforcement for the midfield in the summer.
