Nogales hosts the fifth wheelchair basketball championship

NOGALES, SON.- Under compliance with the health protocols for COVID-19, this border is the host of the “Fifth Edition of the Wheelchair Basketball Championship”, in which five of the most important municipalities of the entity will participate.

The games that began on Saturday 22 will conclude on Sunday 23 of this month and are held at the facilities of the “Carlos Hernández Carrera” Gym. In addition, some teams from the State of Sinaloa will participate as guests.

The foregoing is in order for people with different abilities to start with physical reactivation and promote health through physical exercise, said the Director of the Nogalense Institute of Sports.

Jesús Efrán Minjárez Mendoza commented that these basketball games are held under strict sanitary measures due to the “Coronavirus” (COVID-19) pandemic and access to the gym will be highly controlled.

He said that this state basketball tournament joins the great accumulation of activities aimed at promoting health through sports and physical exercise in which children, youth and adults, as well as people with different abilities, have taken part.

He pointed out that this kind of state and regional events that have been taking place generates economic benefits in restaurants, hotels and in transport, which is why it will continue to be carried out in the remainder of the current municipal administration.
