NFL Announces Exclusive Streaming Stream at Thursday Night Football Matches

Beginning in 2022, NFL Thursday matches will be streamed exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. The news released by the league, this Monday (3), aims to increase the audience of games through mobile devices, in addition to allowing Amazon to offer analytical content and social networks that enrich broadcasts. The original agreement between NFL and Amazon predicted that broadcasts of the Thursday clashes would only take place in 2023.

With the news, the next season will be the last one in which the matches of “Thursday Night Football” will be broadcast by FOX, in the United States. The channel, however, will continue to partner with the NFL, with special attention to the game of “America’s Game of The Week”, always involving teams from the National Conference (NFC). It is noteworthy that this is the leading showdown on American television in the last 20 seasons of the league.

In the United States market, the NFL is the only league that offers its matches broadcast free of charge, including regular season games and playoffs for the markets of each franchise, a trend that will follow even with the agreement between the NFL and Amazon Prime Video in the case of the “Thursday Night Football” clashes.
