New programming in Sports UNAM

In addition to not stopping, Sports UNAM faces the challenge of renewing itself in a world in constant change. That is why, as of Monday, May 31, the transmissions through the Facebook channel of university sports will have new faces.

The broadcasts of Facebook Sports UNAM have become an important part of the daily life of the university community assiduous to physical activity and sport, and have permeated different sectors of the population in Mexico and different corners of the world through the internet. This justifies the creative effort to renew content and thus continue to satisfy the need to move the body for the benefit of physical and mental health, which is of vital importance to prevent diseases, and becomes even more relevant in the midst of a Covid-19 pandemic. 19 that, although its intensity has diminished, it has not ended.

It is in this context where Deporte UNAM makes a new meditation bar available to the public so that the public can start the day in balance and harmony. In the week of opening, this series of broadcasts kicks off with balance, Pilates, activation for the elderly, yoga, gymnastics and chi kung, all of these broadcasts from Monday to Saturday at 9:00 a.m.

The fitness bar is renewed, and the launch week of its new version kicks off with general strength, aerobic endurance, Puma Fit, coordination and speed, and flexibility, Monday through Friday at 11:00 am.

NEW EMISSIONS

There is also good news for lovers of contact sports, since the university sports Facebook channel will be the home of a new series of broadcasts dedicated to this type of sports. The so-called combat bar will be a parade of different sports whose common denominator is one-on-one confrontations.

Thus, during the week from Monday, May 31 to Friday, June 4, at 5:00 p.m. in the center of Mexico, associated fights, judo, aikido, karate do and lima lama will enter the scene.

The main objective is to learn about the sport in question and to introduce the discipline to the public so that they understand what it is about. In the case of karate do, a coach will give a class together with one or two boys, always taking care of the healthy distance, and will explain the warm-up, the blows, the kicks, the forms and the combat, that is, a sample of a confrontation , which in karate we call kumite, shares Carlos Octavio Cruz Valencia, president of the Karate Do Association of UNAM.

In the new broadcasts of university sports through its Facebook channel, reflection and knowledge are not neglected. In addition to content such as sports nutrition, sports injuries, games and sports around the world, as well as sports profiles, one of the broadcasts that stands out is called Gender and Sports.
