In danger following their defeat the day before against Mozambique (1-2), the Atlas Lions won their chopper match against Egypt (4-3) on Wednesday to reach the semifinals of the CAN of Beach Soccer. Second in group B, the Moroccans will face Senegal in the semi-finals on Friday, host country and double defending champion.
The Teranga Lions finished first in Pool A by taking the best of Tanzania (3-1), eliminated. In this group of three teams due to the DRC’s last minute forfeit, Uganda ranks 2e and face Mozambique in an unexpected semi-final. The two finalists will qualify for the World Cup in the discipline.
