More open than ever: Lamar Odom talks about the death of his baby

In June 2006, Lamar was Odom (41) and his childhood sweetheart Liza morales (42) every parent’s nightmare to gruesome reality. The couple already had a daughter and a son together when baby Jayden saw the light of day. But at the age of only six months, the little one died of sudden infant death in his bed. Almost 15 years later, the NBA star now speaks openly about this tragedy.

In his documentary “Lamar Odom: Reborn”, from the People there is an excerpt, the 41-year-old addresses this heavy loss. “It was extremely tough because I was just playing,” said the athlete, recalling the anniversary of his son’s death. At that time he had stood on the field for the Los Angeles Lakers and then partied all night. “When I woke up at the hotel, his mother called me. I still remember her screams. She screamed that she felt like she was in a movie,” reports the basketball player. “I think I still haven’t sat down and cried”, admits the ex-husband of Khloé Kardashian (36).

With the death of their child, the partnership of the grieving parents also broke up. “For some couples it strengthens the relationship or it destroys the relationship. For us it has destroyed the relationship”, tells Liza. After a decade of on-off relationships, Lamar and his high school sweetheart eventually went their separate ways.
