Lotte Kopecky sprints to 2nd place in final stage and classification, Lucinda Brand overall winner in Thüringen | women’s cycling

The Netherlands tops the Thuringia Ladies Tour. While the Dutch Lorena Wiebes was able to win her second stage, the overall victory in the German stage race went to her compatriot Lucinda Brand.

The last stage of the Thuringia Ladies Tour ended in an ascending sprint after 97 kilometers. Only our compatriot Lotte Kopecky was able to keep the wheel of the Dutch Wiebes, but eventually had to give in. Jolien D’hoore was fourth.

For Wiebes it is her second victory in the German stage race after she was also the fastest in the 2nd stage.

Belgian champion Lotte Kopecky can also look back on a successful six days. Earlier she already won the 4th stage in Germany and in the final standings she eventually became 2nd.

The final victory in the Thuringia Ladies Tour is for the Dutch Lucinda Brand. The cyclocross world champion won two stages, just like Lorena Wiebes.

The final podium in Germany: Lotte Kopecky (2nd), Lucinda Brand (1st) and Emma Norsgaard (3rd).
