Lino Muñoz would have an Olympic place in Tokyo in badminton »EnvironmentInteligente

Entornointeligente.com / The World Badminton Federation (BWF) confirmed that there will no longer be any more qualifying tournaments for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, so the Mexican Lino Muñoz is the only one who will attend the Olympic tournament as he is located in the place 27 of the Olympic ranking.

The Olympic tournament in Tokyo will have 38 players in men’s singles, the best in the world ranking, so Muñoz falls into that range, both COM and Conade reported on their Twitter accounts.

“We still need to receive confirmations from the National Olympic Committees and Member Associations, followed by any possible reassignment, and this will take several weeks to complete,” the BWF said in a statement.

If Lino Muñoz’s participation in Tokyo is confirmed, it would be his second Olympic participation, after Rio 2016. The Pan-American medalist would reach Japanese soil at 29 years of age.
