Jason Dupasquier Died, Rossi-Bagnaia Confused Italian MotoGP Continue Page all

KOMPAS.com – Valentino Rossi spoke up about the news of the death of Moto3 racer Jason Dupasquier.

Jason Dupasquier was involved in a fatal accident in the Moto3 qualifying session at the Mugello Circuit, Saturday (29/5/2021).

He was then rushed to Careggi Hospital in Florence, Italy, for intensive care.

However, he was pronounced dead on Sunday (30/5/2021) due to injuries to his head, stomach and chest.

The sad news came some time before the 2021 Italian MotoGP started.

The riders had a minute’s silence to pay their respects to Jason Dupasquier before starting the race.

After the race, Jason Dupasquier was the first name spoken by the players rider MotoGP in their interview.

Valentino Rossi, who is 9 times world champion, even questioned the decision to continue race.

“Today is very difficult. After what happened to Jason yesterday, why are we racing?” Rossi said quoted from Speedweek.

“Everything does not make sense. However, I also think it does not make sense not to continue racing today.”

“It’s a shame what we did today didn’t change what happened to Jason yesterday.”

“We can discuss whether to race or not, but unfortunately that doesn’t change the situation,” said Valentino Rossi.

The same thing was also expressed by Francesco Bagnaia. The Ducati team rider even bluntly said that racing was not supposed to be done.

“This is probably one of the worst days of my life, I’m not enjoying it,” said Bagnaia quoted from a different site, Crash.

“I asked not to race because I felt that was not true. I think if that happened to MotoGP riders we would not have raced.”

“So, I’m not happy with someone’s decision to let us keep racing after news like this.”

“We have lost a rider aged 19 years. This is very difficult to accept and very difficult to accept someone’s decision to continue racing,” said Francesco Bagnaia concluded.

Meanwhile, Francesco Bagnaia listed DNF alias failed to finish after experiencing crash and fell when race just walked two laps.

Meanwhile, Valentino Rossi, who is now racing for Petronas Yamaha SRT, started the Italian MotoGP in 2021 from 19th.

Even so, Rossi finally succeeded in ending the race at number 10 and picking up six points. This result is Rossi’s best achievement at the 2021 World Championship so far.
