Isao no Kuma (Isao Inokuma)

Isao Inokuma (猪 熊 功 Inokuma Isao ?; Yokosuka, February 4, 1938 – Tokyo, September 28, 2001) was a Japanese judoka. Olympic Games 1 medal: 1 gold (over 80 kg in Tokyo 1964) World Cup 1 medal: 1 gold (Opened in Rio de Janeiro 1965) In 1966, he resigned from his position in the Tokyo Police Department to become an executive by Tokai Construction (東海 建設 株式会社). However, he continued to work in the world of judo as a consultant to the International Judo Federation and as an instructor at Tokai University, where he trained future Olympic gold medalist Yasuhiro Yamashita. He also wrote several books and manuals on judo and in 1993 became CEO of Tokai Construction. Isao Ikonuma committed suicide on September 28, 2001 through seppuku, probably due to the economic losses of his company.
