In recent days, after Race-3 won by the Denver Nuggets, Kendrick Perkins he had written one of his usual sentences on Twitter. The former Boston long, now a columnist on ESPN, had branded Jusuf Nurkic and Enes Kanter as “The worst longs in the NBA”, since they hadn’t managed to put Nikola Jokic in trouble in the slightest. Opinion that Nurkic was evidently tied to his finger.
The Bosnian did not miss an opportunity, after an excellent performance in Race-4 also in defense, to immediately remove the pebble from his shoe. In the post-match, after his 17 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks, Nurkic commented on Perkins’ previous outing:
In today’s NBA, Perkins would be the mascot. I don’t know why he wrote those things. I also like him as a person, but to say such a thing… It was bullshit.
“In this league today, he would be a mascot. I don’t know why he claimed that. I like him as a person too. People don’t understand the roles…but to say that stuff, that was weak”
