Hoeneß reveals a piquant detail about the 1860 investor

Support for the lions? The long-time maker of the German record champions reveals in an interview how he helped the old rival from Munich in a difficult situation.

Bayern patron Uli Hoeneß brokered the controversial investor Hasan Ismaik to TSV 1860 Munich a decade ago. “The Ismaik, that is the Hamada, I got them for you too,” said the long-time manager of Bayern Munich to the “Süddeutsche Zeitung”.

Ismaik, who was listed as Jordan’s first billionaire in 2014 by Forbes magazine, joined the then second division 1860 as an investor on May 30, 2011; his advisor was Hamada Iraki. Hoeneß advised Dieter Schneider, President of the “Löwen” at the time: “I told him there was someone who would like to send you money. Do that!”

Ismaik: “Doesn’t want to miss a day”

Ismaik from Jordan joined TSV with big goals. However, the association still has a dispute with the entrepreneur over skills and money. This season the “Löwen” only narrowly missed the relegation to the 2nd Bundesliga, so they stay in the 3rd division for at least another year.

“I don’t want to miss a single day, I just wish for continuous sporting development, a professional external image as well as a peaceful and productive coexistence for the next ten years. A start has been made,” wrote Ismaik on social media on the occasion of his anniversary. “Now it’s up to all of us to continue writing history and create something that lives up to our club’s tradition.”
