The project “A basket for a friend”, the initiative of Charlatans basket asd (with Darefuturo onlus and the Municipality of Naples), which has led to the creation of playgrounds in different districts of the city with the aim of allowing the practice free basketball. 18 basketball baskets united by the red thread of social commitment. This time the project touched Bagnoli with the old pitch in total abandonment next to the Bagnoli metro stop and refurbished by the Charlatans chaired by Giancarlo Garraffa, with a cleanup of weeds, installation of baskets and repainting of the field, with magnificent colors . A few days ago it was the turn of the workers’ district of Bagnoli which for years has been synonymous with a huge area occupied by the industrial complex where everything revolved around that huge beating heart made of towers, warehouses and steel.
Since the blast furnaces were turned off in 92, a long and troubled metamorphosis has begun: alongside the practical needs of disposal and reclamation of the area, the journey of a neighborhood that has found itself orphaned of its identity has begun.
