Hearing Impaired Handball Women’s Turkey Championship kicked off in Karabük.

9 teams from Istanbul, Ankara, Muğla, Denizli, Adana, Eskişehir, Çorlu and İzmir will compete in the championship, which will take place between May 29 and June 2, for 5 days. AK Party Karabük Deputies Cumhur Ünal and Niyazi Güneş, Turkish Deaf Sports Federation President Yakup Ümit Kıhtır, AK Party Karabük Provincial Chairman İsmail Altınöz, Safranbolu District President Mehmet Sarı, Youth and Sports Provincial Director Coşkun Federation executives followed suit with Güven.

On the first day of the competition, Ankara Sağırlar GSK rival Muğla Ortaca defeated İESK 22-9, while İstanbul Sessizler SK defeated Denizli İESK 9-7 in the second match of the day.

Turkish Deaf Sports Federation President Yakup Ümit Kıhtır said that they selected athletes for the National Team in addition to the Turkish Championship. Noting that a team that was established for the first time came second in the World Championship in 2018, Kıhtır said, “We want to continue this success, but we have some shortcomings due to the pandemic. “We will do better as the pandemic improves in order to re-create a team and be more successful.”

Youth and Sports Provincial Director Coşkun Güven said that they are trying to be in every field of sports and said, “We are hosting the Women’s Turkey Handball Championship. Last week, we hosted the Deaf Basketball and Volleyball both women and men Turkey Championships. “We have the opportunity to introduce Karabük because of the athletes coming to Karabük and choosing the National Team.”
