The 2020/2021 Champions League is officially over. Borussia Dortmund’s sensational young striker Erling Haaland is officially the tournament’s top scorer.
Haaland won the Champions League Golden Boot this season after netting a total of 10 goals in eight games. Dortmund itself was eliminated in the quarter-finals after losing to Manchester City 2-4 on aggregate.
The Norwegian bomber outperformed the Paris St. Germain Kylian Mbappe, who sits second with eight goals. Meanwhile, the third place is occupied by veteran Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud with six goals.
There are six other players who have scored six goals throughout this tournament. Among them are Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Alvaro Morata (Juventus), Neymar (PSG), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United), and Karim Benzema (Real Madrid).
Haaland’s 10 goals in this competition have been scored in his first six matches. Haaland just failed to score when Dortmund were kicked out by Man City in a two-leg duel.
However, this Champions League Golden Boot title is like completing Erling Haaland’s glorious season in 2020/2021. Haaland has scored a total of 41 goals in 41 games for Dortmund in all competitions.
