Hamburg allows hotel stays and harbor tours

After seven months of corona lockdown Hamburg opens up again to overnight guests. Hotels, hostels and guest houses are allowed to open with limited capacity from Tuesday, such as Mayor Peter Tschentscher (SPD) announced on Friday. Numerous sports and leisure activities can also take place again.

The usual hygiene requirements are about Harbor and city tours allowed. Cruise ships should be allowed to sail again from June 11th. Up to 20 adults are allowed to do sports together outdoors. Tested, recovered, and fully vaccinated citizens are also allowed to exercise in gyms or visit yoga studios.

Cultural or advanced training events can take place with up to 50 participants on fixed seats indoors, at sporting events up to 650 visitors are allowed. The condition is always a negative test. In the private sector, there is still a contact limit of five people. However, unlike in the past, these may come from more than two households. Children are not counted.

A further relaxation for private meetings could take place in 10 to 14 days, said Tschentscher. The seven-day incidence, i.e. the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days, fell in the Hanseatic city from 27.9 to 27.1. A week ago the value was 39.7.
