Montpellier Hérault SC formalized this Friday, May 28 the signing of the young midfielder from the Berrichonne de Châteauroux (L2).

If he has not yet announced the identity of his new coach, Montpellier HSC laid the first stone of its summer transfer window on Friday. The Hérault club formalized the signing of young Léo Leroy, whose arrival was expected for several weeks.

Full season in L2

Son of Jérôme Leroy, ex-player of PSG, OM or Lens, the young midfielder (21) has been playing at the Berrichonne de Châteauroux since 2018 where he signed his first professional contract the following year. Midfielder, Léo Leroy comes out of a full season in L2 with 33 matches on the clock in a castelroussine formation relegated to National (20th and last).

“He is a young player full of qualities, full of hopes according to our recruitment unit which followed him a lot. I wish him a very good career, like that of his father”, said President Laurent Nicollin to the club website.

Thuler after Leroy?

“The MHSC is one of the very good clubs in our championship which aim for European places and, on a human level, this club has values which correspond to me”, for his part rejoiced the neo-Montpellier.

After Leroy, a new formalization is expected with the upcoming arrival in Hérault of Brazilian defender Matheus Thuler from Flamengo.

Two reinforcements that should precede others since the MHSC is prospecting to find another defender, and had targeted in particular the Dutchman Jeffrey Bruma, perhaps hoping for the return of Younes Belhanda.
