White House health expert Anthony Fauci may have some time to speak out as “master” of all things Covid-19, as he told CNN Americans are “at least at halfway ”of the pandemic.
“We really must not declare victory prematurely,” Fauci told CNN host Wolf Blitzer on Tuesday. “So we’re at the end of the heats, but it’s not over yet. This is what we have to make people appreciate. “
Pressed by Blitzer to be more specific, in baseball terms, how long it will take for the pandemic to end for Americans, Fauci said, “The bottom of the sixth. “ That would mean the battle is over 60% over – unless the game can somehow be extended into extra rounds.
Critics of Fauci, who is the chief medical adviser to President Joe Biden, found no encouragement in the doctor’s comments. “It’s time to get Dr. Fauci out of the mound,” U.S. Representative Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) said on Twitter, continuing the baseball analogy.
Fauci has a history of flip-flopping on his Covid-19 advice and moving the goalposts at different stages of the pandemic. What started as “15 days to slow down the spread” turned into a 14-month battle, with the doctor still calculating nine at 14 months. He admitted last December that he deliberately deceived the public about herd immunity projections from vaccines to manipulate opinions.
Biden set a new target on Tuesday to have 70% of adults vaccinated with at least one Covid-19 vaccine by July 4. Earlier in 2020, Fauci said the United States could gain herd immunity once 60 to 70 percent of the population is fully vaccinated. But it has repeatedly lowered that target over the year, reaching 85% in December.
“We are going in the right direction” Fauci said in the CNN interview on Tuesday. “We see the light at the end of the tunnel, but now is not the time to declare victory. It’s time to get more and more people vaccinated. “

Already showered with awards and media adulation, Dr Fauci wins a new honor: a children’s book proclaiming him “THE DOCTOR OF AMERICA”
Fauci enjoyed rock star status during the pandemic, receiving accolades and adulation from the mainstream media. A children’s book scheduled for release in June gives it the title “The American doctor.” His 80th birthday was celebrated as Dr Anthony Fauci in Washington, DC, and he was serenaded with the birthday song by Biden, then President-elect, and future First Lady Jill Biden.
Fauci was also chosen to pitch the first ceremonial pitch when the Washington Nationals baseball team opened its 2020 season last July – an episode that didn’t end well.
Podcast host Dave Rubin suggested headlining the Blitzer-Fauci interview, “Drunk on power, highest-paid, self-centered government person chats with man-made humanoid news anchor on fake news channel using sports imagery.”

Blitzer ended Tuesday’s interview by suggesting that he and Fauci “Go to a baseball game someday.” Friendly jokes weren’t the first clue that CNN and Fauci could be in league together.
CNN chief technical officer Charlie Chester was shown on video in April telling an undercover Project Veritas reporter that the outlet had deliberately scared about Covid-19 to increase its ratings.
