Red Devil Eden Hazard made time today for a first press talk. “Of course I am not 100 percent fine, mentally I am good. I will try to be in shape for the 1st match,” said the Real player.
Eden Hazard’s preparation for the European Championship went anything but smoothly for the time being. The Red Devil hardly played at Real this season due to injuries.
“It was indeed a difficult year,” says Hazard. “But I am always happy to return to the Red Devils team.”
Will Hazard be fit enough for the European Championship? “Of course I am not 100 percent. I still have some problems with my thigh. Now I can take it easy for another week.”
“I will try to be in shape for the 1st match. I do think that I will be ready by the time the European Championship starts. Mentally, I am good at least.”
I especially need match rhythm
Hazard craves competitions. “Due to the corona break and the many injuries I have not been able to build up a competition rhythm in the past year and a half.”
“I feel that I am gradually getting close to my best level, but now I mainly need matches.”
“I don’t see myself leaving Real next season”
Questions have arisen in recent weeks about Hazard’s future at Real Madrid. He himself dismisses the doubts.
“I still have a 3-year contract with Real. I love the club and the players. I certainly don’t see myself leaving Real next season.”
The departure of coach Zinedine Zidane is an extra disappointment for Hazard. “I am frustrated that I have not been able to offer him what I have in me.”
“Zidane knows that I rate him highly in terms of both player and trainer. I want to thank him for the past 2 years.”
