The 3e edition of the cultural days of Didyr closed their doors on Sunday May 30, 2021 with a series of cultural and social activities.
Having opened on Saturday, May 29, 2021, the curtains have fallen for the 3e edition of the cultural days of Didyr on Sunday, May 30, 2021 in the said municipality. Political, customary and religious authorities were, among others, the participants of this present edition.
Born from the association “Fraternité Didyr”, the cultural days of Didyr aim to unite the sons and daughters of Didyr without any coloration. It is a reunion activity between the sons of the town. To hear Erneste Baguinema Bakouan, mayor of the municipality of Didyr, “ it is something exceptional that must be preserved ».
Same logic for Taita Salifou, representing the Minister of Culture, patron of the ceremony, who greeted this activity in person. ” Our country is in a somewhat difficult context with regard to the insecurity of COVID-19. If there are events of this type, it brings people together and it de-stresses. From any point of view, it helps to calm the situation and soothe hearts. For us, it’s a good activity. Also beyond that, it brings together the sons and daughters of this locality and strengthens the reconciliation process that is initiated by our government. He said.
In addition to their mission to bring together the sons and daughters of the locality, these cultural days of Didyr also served as advocacy. The mayor of the municipality of Didyr took the opportunity to ask the authorities present to transform the base life of Didyr into a district, in order to provide rapid care to patients.
« Didyr a long time ago was approached to be erected into a district. This never happened and we believe that today after the 2020 census, in view of the population in the area and the distance from the main hospital, because for the moment we are evacuating our patients mainly in Koudougou, it is 50 kilometers is too much. So the district has its place here », Launched Baguinema Bakouan.
Regarding the festive aspect of these days, competitions were also on the menu. Traditional wrestling, tug of war, archery, tug of war and storytelling were the disciplines on which the different teams competed.
It should be remembered that the initiating structure of the cultural days of Didyr is Fraternité Didyr. It is an association created by the sons and daughters of the municipality of Didyr who are committed to making their contribution to the socio-cultural development of their municipality. Today, the association has more than 400 active members.
