Colombians today: the semifinals begin in Argentina with the presence of seven coffee growers | Colombians Abroad

After Argentine football should stop for a few days, by order of the National Government due to the increase in Covid-19 cases, the semifinals of the League Cup will be this Monday, May 31. In this phase, seven Colombians will be present, one of them summoned to the Colombian Selection for the Eliminatory games. Both games will be played in San Juan.

Boca Juniors, with the four Colombians called up, will face Racing, while in the other key there will be a coffee duel. Colón de Santa Fe will compete with Independiente, in a phase in which there is no clear favorite, apart from Xeneize coming to eliminate River Plate in the quarterfinals in the Superclásico.

The team of Frank Fabra, Jhorman Campuzano, Sebastián Villa and Edwin Cardona (called up for the Colombian Selection), will be the first to go into action. It will do so at 1:00 pm (Colombian time) at the San Juan del Bicentenario stadium, a stage set up by the organization to meet the finalists.

Racing de Avellaneda comes from eliminating Vélez in the quarterfinals on penalties (4-5), in which they won after equalizing without goals in regulation time. He comes motivated to this definition after qualifying first in his Copa Libertadores group. Independiente vs Colon

The second semifinal match will be played at 5 in the afternoon. He will do it against Independiente, by Andrés Roa.

Independiente comes from advancing to the round of 16 of the Copa Sudamericana in group B and comes with that extra motivation. In the quarterfinals of the League Cup, they beat Estudiantes, 1-4 on penalties. He has been six days in a row without falling, adding league and Libertadores. On the other hand, Colón beat Talleres de Córdoba on penalties (5-3) in the previous phase and completed two weeks without taking action.

When will the final be played?

Before the end of the week, the Argentine League Cup will have a champion. It will be at the San Juan stadium next Friday, June 4. A final with a Colombian flavor is already assured, which could end in a coffee duel in case Boca Juniors agrees to its “kill-kill”.
