Champions League – Champions League: towards the establishment of a Final 4 for the next editions?

Champions League

Already deeply reshaped by the recent reform, the Champions League could see additional changes. UEFA is reportedly considering hosting the semi-finals and the final as a Final Four.

Not a week goes by without European football being the subject of reform projects. Visibly convinced by the success of the Final 8 of the 2019-20 edition of the Champions League, UEFA would consider retaining some changes to make them permanent. Based on information from New York Times unveiled this Thursday, the European body would study the possibility of anchoring the organization of a Final 4 for the semi-finals and the final of C1. This option would be introduced on the same format as that of the Euroleague in basketball. Namely a week of competition in one and the same European city, accompanied by various activities and events. It would therefore mark the end of the traditional round-trip meetings for the last continental square. This is a little more fuel for the debates on the future of football on the Old Continent.
