Ahmed’s grade point average (GPA) is 4.73, and he reached a perfect score of 5.0 in his third year.

“These are amazing schools, but I think the most suitable for me in the next four years is Stanford University,” he told Fox’s affiliate TV station KTVU, “Stanford has always been my dream.”

According to reports, Ahmed is an entrepreneur, volunteer teacher and athlete. Since his second year of high school, he has been serving as a point guard for the Oakland Tech Bulldogs men’s basketball team.

In addition, this talented teenager also created a non-profit organization called Kits Cubed during the 2020 lockdown. Its business is to sell affordable science kits to elementary and middle school students, along with a manual on how to conduct experiments.

The non-profit organization he founded has also become an important highlight of his application for Stanford University. The organization aims to help children practice scientific learning in person, especially in an era when the epidemic is forced to learn remotely.

The establishment of the organization originated when Ahmed noticed that his niece and nephew had doubts about science-based subjects. They were not good at science and hated science. In order to increase their confidence and eliminate their wrong ideas, Ahmed told them through hands-on experiments that science is not boring and difficult to understand.

“I hope children know that science does not need to be carried out in a super laboratory with millions of dollars of equipment. Also, don’t be afraid of making mistakes. In the field of science, you have to make many mistakes to succeed in the end, and mistakes are learned Part.” He said.

Today, Ahmed’s hundreds of kits have benefited many primary schools in Auckland, and thousands more have been distributed to primary schools across the country.

Ahmed believes that he can realize his dream because his parents have provided him with enough love and support. His father is a retired fire chief and his mother is a Cambodian immigrant. They run a real estate business together.

Ahmed said: “My parents told me through their excellent work experience that no matter what kind of dream I have, I can see that I am achieving it, and then I can gradually realize it, and there is a path to the final dream.”

“Being a role model for the younger generation is my way of giving back to society and my hometown, and also a way of motivating them, just like I was inspired by people older than me,” he said.
