LThe Spanish Beatriz Corrales and Clara Azurmendi qualified this Saturday for the quarterfinals of the Austrian Open in badminton, after defeating the Swiss Jenjira Stadelmann and the Hungarian Vivien Sandhorhazi, respectively.
Corrales, eighth favorite, was the first to secure a place in the quarterfinals, by beating the Swiss Stadelmann in 35 minutes by 18-21 and 17-21, and Azurmendi, first seed, did the same minutes later against the Hungarian Vivien Sandorhazi which he beat 21-10 23-21 in less than half an hour.
Azurmendi and Corrales will also look for this day in Graz the pass to the quarterfinals in the doubles competition against the Austrians Nina Almer and Martina Nst.
