Ludwigsburg top value under the offensive board
In addition to the aggressive man defense across the entire field, the Ludwigsburg are top in the offensive rebounds: “Lubu” grabbed 14.6 balls under the opposing board – that is a top value in the league. And that John Patrick’s teams have character and can fight until they drop is not a new finding either.
However, the statistics speak for Bayern: Of the 30 duels in the BBL so far, Munich won 24, this season both teams won their home games: Munich won 93:70 at home, Ludwigsburg 91:77.
So far, there have been three clashes in the play-offs, each in the quarter-finals: Munich won in 2014 (four games) and 2016 (five). Last year Ludwigsburg prevailed against the hosts in two games at the final tournament in Munich. So there is still one unfinished business. And Lucic says: “I hope it turns out differently this time.”
