Basketball Africa League: Miraculous, Patriots BC joins the aces

The Basketball Africa League semi-finals table is complete. The last quarter-final between the Patriots BC and Ferroviário de Maputo delivered its verdict late on the evening of Thursday, May 27.

After a fierce duel at the end of the night and far from boredom, Patriots BC landed the last ticket to the semi-finals, after a memorable turnaround. Rwandans in front of their home crowd defeated Mozambicans by a score of 73 to 71.

But the fight was tough. Patriots BC started the game first, winning the first quarter 24-15. On resumption, Ferroviário imposed his pace and took the match on his own, to win 24-18 in the second quarter. The very inspired Mozambicans still win the third quarter by 18-12.

Under the threat of a tragic elimination in front of his large crowd, Patriots BC put all their forces in the last quarter, to change the pace of the game and reverse fate. The home club managed to win the fourth quarter 19-14, despite Ferroviário’s fierce determination.

At the end of the ordeal and fear, Patriots BC narrowly won 73-71 to join the Union Sportive Monastirienne de la Tunisie in the semifinals.
