Guyana badminton couple Priyanna Ramdhani and Akili Haynes have qualified to compete in the first ever Junior Pan American Games in Cali, Colombia later this year.

According to the Guyana Badminton Association (GBA), Guyana’s ranking was made possible by the world rankings of Priyanna and Narayan Ramdhani, however, because Narayan exceeded the stipulated age limit for under 23, the number one player two from the country, Haynes, won the nod. .

The first Pan American Youth Games in Cali 2021 will bring together more than 3,800 athletes from 41 countries who will compete in 39 disciplines. The gold medalist in each sport will automatically qualify for the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.
