‘Alavesas de oro’ seeks to promote women’s sport

The sports service of the Provincial Council directed by Ana del Val launches a new project focused on the youngest with the aim of giving visibility to less frequent modalities or with less diffusion as a way of promoting sport at key ages where dropouts are frequent.

The campaign called ‘Alavesas de Oro’, in clear allusion to the sporting successes in the province, such as the Olympic medal in rhythmic gymnastics achieved in Atlanta’96, covers 15 different sports: rugby, tennis, table tennis, chair rugby, inclusive badminton, karate, swimming, archery, canoeing, wrestling, athletics, cycling, ice and line hockey, shovel and weightlifting Y 17 athletes involved, among them, the Spanish archery champion, Ainhoa ​​Santamaría, to the three-time European rugby champion, Anne Fernández de Corres, including the young swimmers Ainhoa ​​Gotxikoa or Uxue Alba, the young promise of athletics Lur Azpitarte, the coach and inclusive badminton player Dina Abouzeid or the chair rugby player, June Marcos, among others. Each one of them represents the hallmarks of our city and province, a sports territory.

The objective is to give visibility to the modalities with less diffusion in a key age to avoid abandonment

An interview, a review of each of the sports represented and a video of each of them, is the material that will be shown biweekly on the website of the Provincial Council and on the women’s sports portal www.dxtfem.com, which collaborates with the production and execution of the material. Through social networks, Facebook, Twitter and, especially, Instagram as audiovisual support, the athletes from Alava will share their extensive personal and sporting experiences with different videos.

The protagonists are: Ainhoa ​​Santamaría (Archery), Anne Fernández de Corres (Rugby), Lur Azpitarte (Athletics), June Marcos (Wheelchair Rugby), Dina Abouzeid (Inclusive Badminton), Paula Suárez (Cycling), Amalur Xinxu Pereda (Canoeing), Alba Pinilla (Karate), Haizea Fernández de Romarate (Ice and line hockey), Ane Ibáñez (Shovel), Sarai Delgado (Table tennis), -Haizea Pérez (Weightlifting), Nerea Elorza (Wrestling), Ainhoa ​​Gotxikoa, Uxue Alba (Swimming) and June and Zuriñe Viñegra (Tennis).
