three things to know before Boulazac – Nanterre

On Saturday February 6, the Boulazac Basket Dordogne will once again have the opportunity to open its Jeep Elite victory counter. It will be against Nanterre, at the Palio (6 p.m.). Otherwise, the BBD would sign an eighth defeat in as many games. Three things to know before this confrontation.

1 Nanterre doesn’t like the Palio

At least in an Elite Jeep. Out of four trips to Périgord in a Pro A or Jeep Elite, Nanterre has lost four. The first time was in 2012–2013, and the duo Amadi McKenzie – Alex Acker had bent the future champion of France (75–63). Then in 2017–2018, the BBD won 83–71 with 15 points from Shawn James. In 2018–2019, the victory was shorter (83–78), with 21 points from Nicolas de Jong. But last year, the Boulazacois had inflicted a correction on Ile-de-France (91–62) with 20 points from Alpha Kaba.

2 Shortage of BBD leaders

For this late match of the 3rd day, the Boulazacois are clearly reduced on the back lines. Paul Billong and Kevin Harley are injured. Edgar Sosa is pushed towards the exit since the arrival of Cameron Wells. The latter, precisely, will not be in the game. In the Gravelines / Dunkirk jersey, he has already played this third day, on October 3, for a defeat at Le Mans (69–64). The regulations of the National Basketball League prohibit a player from playing on the same day in two different jerseys. Certainly, Wells had played in Boulogne / Levallois and against Monaco on behalf of the BBD, during days he had already played with the Northerners. “It’s a club error”, pleads coach Thomas Andrieux.

3 The Boulazac workforce could still move

According to the bebasket.fr website, the Evreux club (Pro B) would be interested in the arrival of Dylan Affo Mama. Thomas Andrieux explains that “this departure is a possible option. Évreux is inquiring, we have postponed the deadline, we must be able to assess our workforce for the end of the season.” Because, at the same time, the Perigord coach reveals that the BBD is “working to extend Jérémy Nzeulie to the end of the season. It is a track that seems credible to us.”
