PSG: the new Jordan jersey released against OM?

Pink and purple, branded with the logo of the Jordan brand, partner of the club since 2018-2019. If the PSG unveiled its new colors last week, the players should show them during an event match: the clasico on Sunday evening in Marseille (24th day). Faced with the white of the Marseille jersey, in a meeting broadcast internationally, the capital club believes that the exhibition would be ideal for this new tunic.

The reflections continue at the headquarters of PSG, but the trend is real. A final decision will be made at the end of the week. This 4th jersey, in the original colors, should however be worn on rare occasions during the second part of the season. The club remains very attached to the use of the two Hechter outfits, which are also very popular with PSG fans.

The images of this new jersey caused a stir among the red and blue supporters. But PSG fully assumes this original choice. ” It (Editor’s note: the new collection) symbolizes the ambition of Paris Saint-Germain to embody the first club of the new generation. It also underlines the will of a club that dares, an avant-garde and precursor club. Internationally, it pushes the limits and innovates, creates and inspires, ”explains PSG in its announcement press release.

Pink, purple and a touch of black mixed in “a unique mesh” echo the print used in 1987 for the release of Air Jordan 3 sneakers. Already, in 2019-2020, the color orange (infrared, according to the Jordan term) was inspired by that used for the Air Jordan VI in 1991.

It would not be the first time that Parisians would go to the Vélodrome with a tunic that contrasted with its usual colors. On April 12, 2002, the players then coached by Luis Fernandez had faced Olympique de Marseille with a black and gray jersey and lost 1-0 (Van Buyten’s goal). The outfit in question had never been reused in an official match.
