The French BasketBall Federation unveiled this Wednesday the list of sites that will host the Open Plus tournaments of the Superleague 3 × 3 FFBB presented by GRDF.
An Olympic discipline for the first time at the Tokyo Games this summer, 3 × 3 is a major development axis for the Federation as part of its FFBB 2024 plan. To support the growing interest in 3 × 3 in France, the FFBB has decided to increase the number of Open Plus to 24 tournaments spread across the whole country between May and July 2021. The 3 × 3 FFBB Superleague presented by GRDF will end with the 3 × 3 French Open on the weekend of July 17 (subject to sanitary conditions allowing the organization of sports competitions). As a reminder, during the 2019 season, nearly 200 women’s and men’s teams participated in the 17 Opens Plus organized across France.
Each Open Plus is open to all FFBB licensees and holders of a Superleague License. The principles for qualifying for the final tournament (12 teams) of an Open Plus are as follows:
– The FIBA 3 × 3 ranking (7 teams)
– The Opens Plus Access linked to this Open Plus (4 teams)
– The qualifying tournament organized the day before the Open Plus (1 team)
This season, the overall prize money for the 3 × 3 FFBB Superleague presented by GRDF has almost doubled, reaching the record amount of € 133,000.
