Vendée Globe: Dalin is getting closer and closer to Bestaven – Info feed – Vendée Globe

At the 9:00 am Monday score, Yannick Bestaven was still leading the Vendée Globe. But the lead of the skipper of Maître CoQ on Charlie Dalin (Apivia) was only 66 miles. Clogged up not far from Rio de Janeiro, Bestaven is battling a headwind and tacking at low speed this Monday morning (4.5 knots over the last 4 hours) to bypass the long band of high pressure that is blocking the way. Still downwind at night, but not for very long, the competition therefore took the opportunity to move closer temporarily. Behind the leading duo, the mano a mano continues between Thomas Rettant and Damien Seguin for the 3e square. Slight advantage at LinkedOut (+170) over Groupe Apicil (+173) for the moment. Louis Burton (Bureau Vallée 2) is not far behind (+212), after a magnificent “remount” after his repair in New Zealand.
