Felix Loch is the overall winner of the Luge World Cup for the first time in three years and is going unbeaten in his home World Cup. The record world champion also won the eighth race of the season in Innsbruck-Igls on Saturday, so the crystal ball can no longer be taken from him before the two remaining races. Next weekend, the first time is the World Cup on his home track at Königssee.

“One can only dream of such a season, I am speechless,” said Loch on ZDF. “It’s a perfect winter, I want to finish it this way and always be at the forefront.” On Saturday in Igls, Loch relegated ex-world champion Semen Pawlitschenko to second place by six thousandths of a second, while Johannes Ludwig (Oberhof) came third, who previously had theoretically the only chance to catch Loch in the overall standings.
