As a piece of disc pinched his sciatic nerve, Tiger Woods underwent surgery to resolve the issue. The “Tiger” should be convalescing for several months.

Tiger Woods went back to the hospital hut. The former world number 1 in golf, already operated four times for back problems but who also suffered from the knees during his career, confirmed this Tuesday via a press release published via his official account Twitter to have undergone an intervention which aimed to “remove a fragment of disc under pressure which pinched his sciatic nerve after having felt discomfort following the PNC Championship”, tournament during which he stood out alongside his son Charlie . According to this press release, the doctors “confirmed that the operation was a success and expect to see him fully recover his faculties”.

Woods already eager to resume training

The player with 82 tournament victories, including fifteen Grand Slam titles, then confirmed that this intervention had not curbed his desire to walk the fairways of the PGA Tour and the most prestigious tournaments. “I can’t wait to get back to training and I’m focused on getting back to the circuit,” Tiger Woods said in his statement. If the American did not give details about his estimated date of resumption of the competition, he still confirmed to give up participating in the Torrey Pines tournament, scheduled for January 28 to 31, as well as the one organized in Pacific Palisades, from February 18 to 21. However, Tiger Woods has set himself the goal of returning to the circuit at the next Augusta Masters, the last Major added to his list during the 2019 edition, scheduled for next April.
