Tahiti, January 26, 2021 – Mareva Georges-Marciano presented Tuesday at the Diadème high school in Pirae, the first “Margaret’s place” of the fenua. The purpose of this program is to support students who are victims of family violence and who are excluded from the school system. “This space is going to be a cocoon for these young people,” said the beauty queen.

With the help of the private foundation of Paul and Mareva Georges-Marciano the program “Margaret’s Place”, in favor of students excluded from the school system that already exists in the United States, is now in place at the fenua, at the Diadème high school, in Pirae. The one who was elected Miss France 1991 presented, this Tuesday, in the presence of Christelle Lehartel, Minister of Education, and Philippe Beuchot, headmaster of the Diadème, the lounge which was specially designed to support these students in difficulty . “Two years ago, when Aorai High School and Taaone merged, the goal was to strive for excellence. Young people who are well in their head and in their body, it is striving for this excellence“, declared the principal of the school.

“A vital program for our youth”

Concretely, the “Margaret’s Place”, financed by the foundation of the baseball player Joe Torre, also victim of domestic violence, are comfortable and confidential lounges, installed in the establishments, where the pupils can come to express themselves to professionals. “It is a vital program for our youth“, insisted Mareva Georges, former student of the Taaone high school.”This space, which will be filled with positive messages, will be a real cocoon for these young people. These young people will then become the ambassadors of tomorrow’s fenua.

According to the beauty queen, this program has proved its worth in Uncle Sam’s country. Thanks to “Margaret’s Place”, “94% of young people say they are safe in this space. 91% say they have regained confidence in themselves and their future“, says Mareva Georges.
