Mamy ko on the siren

A very high level match, a good show for those who cheered from home. It is a shot at the end entrusted to the most experienced man who mocked the Sharks on the last day of the round of the mini group: the Oleggio Magic Basket surrenders to Rekico Faenza 79-80.

Mamy with the usual quintet De Ros, Somaschini, Giacomelli, Pilotti and Airaghi; Faenza ranks Rubbini, Testa, Iattoni, Anumba and Filippini. Faenza starts well (3-8) but there is Somaschini who immediately annoys him and shoots from the bow and from the painted one, mending at 10-13. Negri shortens again, then unleashes the first perfect assist to Ielmini and with 2 minutes and 39 is a tie (15-15). Point-to-point battle with Ferrari to score the first points in B, first in the line then attacking the iron (19-18). Negri first tows and then scores and it’s 22-20. It is always close confrontation, served by Ielmini Giacomelli begins to give a taste of his show (it will be 27 points in 28 minutes filled with 10 rebounds); Airaghi well for the free, the triple of captain Pilotti delivers the first mini advantage (32-28), but Faenza is there and we are back in a draw (34-34). De Ros puts his head forward (39-37), Airaghi finds himself near the basket, Petrucci closes with a three-point game (41- 42). Upon returning to the field, the fouls for the Sharks begin to be felt, 3 for Somaschini and Giacomelli who, however, together with De Ros signs a mini partial of 5-0 which is worth 46-44. Captain Pilotti loses the ball on offense but redeems himself with a textbook block and a triple that inaugurates the 12-3 red and white partial sealed by a shot from Romano who entered fresh from the bench which is worth 58-49. It is always Romano to recover the ball in defense and to relaunch the Sharks and the fourth ends with Airaghi’s basket served by Negri (60-51). It is the last quarter in particular to give those who watch from home a beautiful show. Faenza does not allow itself to be overcome and shortens to 62-57. Giacomelli shoots from three and then corrects a De Ros shot thus creating a double-digit distance (67-57). Faenza shortens again to impact 68-68 with 4 minutes left to go. Negri runs in the line, Rubbini and Filippini overtake but with Negri (and in the half bomb by Boglio) it is clear parity two minutes from the end (74-74). Iattoni’s triple is a cold shower, but Giacomelli loads his teammates on his shoulder and reaches 79-77. The last action is from Faenza, the Sharks are good at defense and make the seconds go by, the opponents make a throw-in with 4 seconds of play and rely on Pierich who makes no mistake from the arc: 79-80.
