Marc Gasol returned to Memphis (USA) today, where he was a Grizzlies legend for a decade, and scored a hard-hitting victory with the Los Angeles Lakers (94-108) in an emotional game but also a rough one for the Spaniard due to an eye injury that left him bleeding on the court.
Gasol had not played in Memphis since signing in 2018 for the Toronto Raptors, with whom he took the title of the NBA that same year.
On the return today to what was his home, the pivot got 7 points, captured 4 rebounds and added 6 assists in 24 minutes.

The most unfortunate part of this very special day for Gasol was a blow above the left eye in the final stretch of the second quarter that left him with a bleeding face, a misfortune for which he received four points to be able to return to the court in the second half.

The Grizzlies could not pay him the tribute they wanted today due to the absence of public at the FedExForum due to the pandemic, but during the meeting they gave him an ovation and a video with some of his highlights in Memphis.
In the Lakers, who now have a balance of 5 wins and 2 losses, the most prominent players today were LeBron James (22 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists) and Montrezl Harrell (16 points and 9 rebounds) in a very difficult game that they couldn’t control until the last quarter.
On the part of the combative Grizzlies, who are left with 2 wins and 4 losses, Kyle Anderson stood out with 18 points in the absence of the injured Ja Morant.
