Interim results of the Dakar Rally 2021

On Sunday, January 3, the 43rd annual famous Dakar Rally kicked off, which is taking place again in Saudi Arabia. So far, what are the results of the Czech crews in the individual stages and the overall standings?

The Dakar 2021 Rally started on Sunday, January 3, with a stage from Jeddah to Biša. It is running again in Saudi Arabia, but according to the organizers, the track is 90% new. A total of 7,646 kilometers await the competitors, divided into 12 stages, of which 4,767 km will be measured. The order for the first stage was decided by the prologue, which took place on January 2.

3. Vadi ad-Davasir – Vadi ad-Davasir (403 measured km)

But in the third stage around Vadi ad-Davasir, it was better again. This time Martin Prokop finished seventh among the cars, thanks to which he moved up again in the standings. Martin Macík even finished fourth among the trucks. After the problems in the first two stages, Tomáš Enge finally avoided technical problems and also moved up in his Lightweight Prototype category, although he still remains at the tail of the race field with a loss.

2nd stage Biša – Vadí ad-Davásir (457 measured km)

Unfortunately, the second stage was no longer as successful for the Czech competitors as the first. Martin Prokop wandered during it, so he fell through the order, Aleš Loprais was again delayed by a defect. Another loss was made by Tomáš Enge. However, despite the vibrations of his special at high speeds, Martin Macík finished fifth among the trucks.

1st stage Jeddah – Biša (277 measured km)

The start of the Dakar Rally 2021 was extremely successful for the Czech participants. Martin Prokop finished in a great third place in the car category, as he gradually worked his way up from the start. Aleš Loprais was even second among the trucks. Martin Macík Jr., who was fifth overall in this category, was also among the best.
