This early Monday, Verónica Cepede advanced to the next round of qualifying after beating the American Asia Muhammad 6-3, 6-4, in 90 minutes. This was the fourth time that both sides met individually and it is the third victory for the Paraguayan tennis player, who currently ranks 175th in the WTA.
On Tuesday, Cepede will face Belgian Greet Minnen, who on this day beat Australian Alexandra Bozovic 6-3, 6-4. The contest takes place in Dubai and the Paraguayan is looking for a pass to the main draw of the Australia Open.
