Gigantes del Cibao deliver food rations to athletes

With the support of the Gigantes del Cibao dozens of high-performance Franco-Corisano athletes received food rations within the extensive social aid program that the sports organization has been implementing in favor of those most in need during the pandemic.
Renowned athletes belonging to the national teams of judo, Olympic wrestling, baseball, chess, indoor basketball, three-for-three basketball, soccer, athletics, koftball, boxing, among other sports disciplines, received numerous covers containing essential items.
Prestigious coaches, technical personnel, referees, sports chroniclers and broadcasters linked to the area of ​​sport were also benefited, who since the beginning of the pandemic had not been taken into account with any aid from the private or public sector.
Likewise, the deputy of the province Duarte Dorina Rodríguez gave dozens of Christmas bonuses to several athletes from various sports disciplines.
On his side, the licensed provincial senator Franklin Romero and the director of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (INDRHI) gave Christmas bonuses to national team athletes as well as to renowned coaches and referees from the Duarte province.
The outstanding national baseball team athlete Rosy Santos, representing all athletes, thanked the organizing committee of the San Vicente games as well as the Gigantes del Cibao for taking into account the Franco-Corisano athletes with this important
donations.
“We thank Samir Rizek president of the Gigantes del Cibao for such an important gesture of bringing food to the athletes of our province that since March we have had to stay at home and stop training to avoid catching the
COVID 19 ”he asserted.
The activity was headed by the godmother of the Gigantes del Cibao Elizabeth Ureña, the mascot of the Gigantes, the deputy Dorina Rodríguez, among others.
In addition to the Gigantes del Cibao, the activity was supported by the Nordestana Credit Corporation, the engineer Olmedo Caba, director of INDRHI, Senator Franklin Romero, Deputy Dorina Rodríguez, the athletes based in New York City Wilton Camilo Santos and Rennie Almánzar, Constanza Garden, the New York resident businessman

The journalist Tony Reyes, general coordinator of the San Vicente games, was in the coordination of the activity under the supervision of the outstanding technicians Domingo Ortega, Juan Manuel Javier, Enriquillo Mena, Omar Javier, Juan Eligio Rojas, among others.
