De Laat third in all-round classification of the European Short Track Track, also bronze at 1,000 meters

Semjon Jelistratov was almost certain of the all-round title after gold in the 1,000 meters. Only a penalty in the super final could keep the Russian from the gold, but that did not happen. He finished sixth. The silver in the standings went to Pietro Sighel, who won the super final.

Sjinkie Knegt was also allowed to ride the super final, but he received a penalty and therefore finished eighth in the general classification.

Not gnawing in the final 1,000 meters

The 1,000 meters ended in disappointment for Knegt. Knegt, who took bronze in the 1,500 meters on Saturday, survived the quarter finals, but had to tolerate De Laat and Roberts Kruzbergs in the semi-finals and also received a penalty, which ruled out a final spot.

The third Dutch participant in the 1,000 meters, Dylan Hoogerwerf, stranded in the quarter finals. He was a few centimeters short for a place in the semi-finals.
