Another nasty fall and facial injury. The star rival Ledecká also had to sew

Just four days after the dangerous carom Ester Ledecká, another great skier was hit by an ugly fall during a World Cup race. Three-time world champion Wendy Holdener also suffered a facial injury and had to sew.

The winner of three World Cup races started Tuesday’s giant slalom in Kronplatz, Italy, number nine, but did not reach the finish line.

After forty seconds of riding, her skis cut, the fall threw her forward, and Holdener slid helplessly several tens of meters down the icy slope.

The Swiss competitor ended up shaken a short distance from the safety nets, after a while she got to her feet with the help of the organizers. However, he had to seek medical attention.

“I was lucky in the misfortune. My head hurts a little and I have a swollen lip that they had to sew on me,” the 27-year-old skier told an SRF station that she had to undergo the same procedure as Ledecká. “But at least now it pays to wear a veil,” Holdener said jokingly.

That the humor did not leave her, she immediately proved with an image on Instagram, where the abrasions on her face can be clearly seen. “You should see the other one,” she added, adding the boxing glove symbol.

Holdener debuted at the 2010 World Cup and has since scored 39 podium finishes.

In addition to her three world titles, she is also an Olympic champion from Pyongyang when she was part of the winning team in the team race. From games in South Korea, he also has slalom silver and combination bronze at home.

These weeks, however, the native of Unteriberg is not doing very well, she has only reached the finish line once in the last four starts in the World Cup.
