Agripina Prima: Champion with Marcus Gideon, Now Involved in Match Fixing

INDOSPORT.COMBWF announced that eight Indonesian badminton players were found guilty of fixing scores or match fixing. One of the badminton athletes on the list is Agrippina Prima Rahmanto, who was a partner of Marcus Fernaldi Gideon.

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) imposed sanctions on eight badminton athletes from Indonesia for being involved in a match-fixing scandal. Not only involved in scoring, BWF also announced that the eight athletes were participating in other illegal acts.

They are believed to have participated in manipulating the outcome of the match, fixing the outcome of the match, and betting money by gambling. Sadly, one of the athletes included in the BWF black list, Agripina Prima, was once the partner of the current best Indonesian men’s doubles athlete, Marcus Gideon.

Long before meeting Kevin Sanjaya, Agripina Prima had been Marcus Gideon’s partner in the field. Agripina herself is known to be a badminton player from DKI Jakarta and has strengthened the badminton club PB Jaya Raya.

Agripina is known to have teamed up with Marcus Gideon in 2012. For the Singapore International 2011 event, Marcus Gideon / Agripina Prima Rahmanto Putra won the title after defeating another Indonesian pair, Lukhi Apri / Kevin Sanjaya in the final.

Marcus Gideon / Agripina Prima Rahmanto Putra won the championship title again in 2012, to be precise at the Iran Fajr International event.

No longer paired with Marcus Gideon, Agripina was last known to be competing in the 2019 Vietnam Open and then with her partner, Lukhi Apri Nugroho
