The Junior World Hockey Championship had three more matches on the agenda in Edmonton. The Slovak hockey players first lost to the favored Finland 0: 6, on the contrary, Germany gained a valuable victory, dealing with the troubled Swiss 5: 4. In the duel of the Titans, Russia defeated the Swedes in a great battle 4: 3 after extra time.

The Finnish hockey team beat Slovakia at a high 6-0 at the World Championships in Edmonton, remains without losing a point even after the third match, and caught up with the leader in Group A in Group A.

At New Year’s Eve CET, the team of coach Antti Pennanen will compete with the home team for the first place in the table. Slovakia is third, but it will not improve its four-point balance and Germany may overtake it.

For the first time in a match between certain quarterfinalists, the Finns rejoiced in the ninth minute, when Anton Lundell turned Kasper Simontaival’s ideal pass up close. The Finns got the puck for Samuel Hlavaj before leaving the locker room once again, but it was after some time, so the used power play did not take place in the end.

Between the 27th and 29th minute, however, Toni Niemelä and Kasper Simontaival increased to 3: 0. In the end, the team of coach Róbert Petrovický had to come to terms with a debacle. Santeri Hatakka scored in the third period and Samuel Helenius won twice.
