The Monza wins 3-0 over Salernitana, in the big match valid for the sixteenth day of Serie A. Absolute protagonist Mario Balotelli who, on his debut with the Brianza club led by Silvio Berlusconi and Adriani Galliani, broke the deadlock after less than 5 minutes. Balotelli scored with a sideguard deviation that was also a bit lucky with his right thigh, on an assist from the left by Carlos Augusto. Monza then doubled in the 45th minute with Barilla, while the final 3-0 was scored by Armellino in the 95th minute.
Balotelli’s match ended after just over an hour, replaced in the 62nd minute by Maric. Upon leaving the camp SuperMario was greeted and hugged by his teammates, including Boateng. Balotelli hadn’t scored for 10 months and hadn’t played since 9 March (Sassuolo-Brescia). With this victory, Monza momentarily leaps to third place in the standings with 29 points, -2 from the leaders Salernitana and -1 from Empoli.
