The grandson of the former coach of the Czech national hockey team Alois Hadamczik spent the last two seasons in the Canadian junior competition QMJHL, but last week he agreed to engage with the German Cologne, led by former Sparta coach Uwe Krupp.

The highest German competition due to the coronavirus pandemic will not start until December 17, and the Opava offspring, whose biological father is former football player Martin Čížek and stepfather of Kometa Brno hockey player Michal Barinka, decided to submit everything to winning a firm place in the team.

National team nomination published, Hadamczik’s grandson refused! The head coach has a coronavirus

He also sacrificed the Twenties Championship, which he would most likely get to. In the current season, he played all three of its preparatory matches with Slovakia for the junior national team, in which he scored twice.

“Marcel called me himself on Friday and told me that he had won a contract in Cologne. We all wish him that, but the German top competition starts on December 17 and he wants to win a permanent place in the squad. That is why he announced to us that at this moment he prefers the club to the national team, “confirmed the head coach of the junior national team, Karel Mlejnek.

Marcel Barinka did not reject youth selections in previous seasons. According to the statistics of the Hockey Association, he has played 55 matches for them in the last three years, which is a decent number.

Now, however, a participant in last year’s Under-18 Players’ World Cup has declined the invitation with thanks. For everyone, for understandable reasons, this group does not include the head coach of Czech Hockey and at the same time the coach of the senior national team Filip Pešán.

“Did Marcel Barinka prefer the fight for the team in Cologne, Germany, to the Czech national team at the U20 World Championships in Canada? So this doesn’t bother me! Where the hell is Czech pride? I will always fight for players who prefer the national team to their comfort and personal interests, “Pešán said in a post on his Twitter.

On the contrary, he highlighted players who will help twenty in the current coronavirus period. Although from Saturday the start of the preparatory camp in Vyškov, as after arriving at the venue of the championship in Edmonton, they will live in a bubble.

“It will be a particularly difficult mission for the boys this year. The moon away from the family in a bubble. Let’s value them all the more and keep our fingers crossed for them, “Pešán added.
