TV live broadcasts around the holidays

Berlin (dpa) – The Bundesliga is taking a short break – but for sports lovers, the TV channels still offer a large selection around the holidays. A few Tipps:

SKI JUMPING: The TV favorites of sports fans around the turn of the year have been broadcasts of the Four Hills Tournament for many years. The kick-off on Tuesday and the fourth stage run on ZDF, the second and third on ARD. Eurosport also shows the jumping in Oberstdorf, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Innsbruck and Bischofshofen.

BIATHLON: The World Team Challenge for biathletes will be held on Monday in Ruhpolding instead of Schalke. The ZDF broadcasts first in the stream on “zdf.de” (5:55 pm) and later on traditional television (7:20 pm).

BASKETBALL: The Telekom shows a small part of their sports offer freely accessible without registration on “magentasport.de”. The promotion includes the basketball conferences with Bundesliga and Euroleague games on December 29th and 30th. On Christmas Day there is already Ulm versus Oldenburg on Sport1 on free TV. The NBA is only available to DAZN customers.

HANDBALL-CHAMPIONS-LEAGUE: The most important European Cup only runs against additional payment on the DAZN streaming service, but handball fans can watch the final tournament with record champions THW Kiel for free. The TV broadcaster Eurosport has secured the transmission rights for the tournament on Monday and Tuesday in Cologne.

HANDBALL BUNDESLIGA: The Bundesliga with the 16th matchday only runs against additional payment on Sky, but there is an exception on Sunday: The conference with four games can be viewed free of charge on Sky Sport News.

DARTS: On Sunday, after the short Christmas break, the Darts World Cup will continue. Arrow throwing fans get their money’s worth at Sport1. With the exception of the day of rest on New Year’s Eve, the special interest channel will broadcast until the final on January 3rd at no additional cost.

PREMIER LEAGUE: Unlike in Germany, football is traditionally played again in England on Boxing Day. There are six games on Boxing Day alone, but only against payment. Exceptionally, all Sky customers can watch – including those who have not booked a sports package.

FOOTBALL: Football fans watch ProSieben Maxx. On Sunday there are two NFL games at 6:55 p.m. and 10:10 p.m. The paid streaming service DAZN offers its customers even more NFL games – including on the 1st and 2nd public holidays.
