The young promise of Spanish basketball, Elena Buenavida Estévez, has recently been received at the City Council of Granadilla de Abona, by the Department of Sports, which is responsible for Marcos González. The 16-year-old athlete from Granada was chosen in 2019 to be part of the high performance program of the ‘XXI Century’, in Barcelona; a team through which most of the members of the absolute Spanish team have passed and which has had so many successes. That same year, he joined the Spanish basketball team in the Europe U16 Women. In the basketball magazine ‘Gigantes’ it has been considered one of the most interesting projects at European level of the generation of 2004 for having a very special leadership on the field. Marcos González congratulated the 16-year-old young woman from Granada, who was a youth youth team at Luther King, La Laguna, and from where she made the jump to the national level. In addition, the Sports Councilor conveyed his congratulations to Elena, an example of struggle, effort and perseverance that has led her to have the greatest progression at the junior level and to be considered one of the strongest promises in Spanish basketball, for her impeccable career in the sport of the basket and her passion for a sport that she practiced from a very young age.
